How to "Cook" Ramen Noodles With No Heat

Most people think they need hot water to cook Ramen noodles. For years, I've eaten Ramen noodles on camping trips, car trips and many other times when I've been away from a heat source.

Ramen noodles usually take 3 minutes to cook. Instructions indicate that you simply add the noodle pack in at least two cups of boiling water and you will be ready to eat in 3 minutes.

For the Ramen noodles to "cook", they need to completely absorb the water until they are soft. The heat helps accelerate this process, but by no means is it absolutely necessary. Ramen noodles can absorb cold water as easily as hot water. The main difference is that it takes more time. Here is a brief guide to help you cook your Ramen noodles without heat:

1. Find a container that contains a minimum of 12 or 16 ounces of water.

2. Empty the package of noodles in the container

3. Fill the container with cold water

4. Wait 30 minutes

5. Mix in the dressing

6. Enjoy!

That's it. Pretty simple, right? I discovered that 30 minutes is a good amount of time for the noodles to become completely smooth. Sometimes I can wait up to an hour. The time may vary depending on the temperature of the water. If it is very cold, it will take longer than if it is warm. Just look at it from time to time if you're in a hurry.

Of course, this whole method assumes that you do not mind eating cold noodles, but I've found that they're just as tasty when they're cold. when they are hot
